About this Offer

With a whole host of major movies and the popular Games of Thrones being filmed in Iceland we’ll take you not only hunting for the Northern Lights but to many of the filming locations

Departing your choice of airport you can choose either a 3 or 4 night stay in the capital Reykjavik. You’ll stay in a 3* hotel with en-suite facilities convenient to all the attractions this wonderful city has to offer and a local Icelandic Breakfast is included each morning.

Depending on your arrival time you’ll join our Northern Lights Tour on either the first or second night of your stay and we will pick you up from your hotel a head out from the city, away from the bright city lights to the best locations the lights have been forecast to appear.

Our expert English speaking guide will explain on journey the science and superstition behind the Aurora Borealis and fingers crossed we witness the lights dance across the clear Icelandic skies.

This natural phenomenon is often witnessed in the Icelandic Arctic skies on clear nights in the dark winter months. They are caused by the interaction of particles from the sun with the upper atmosphere over the North Pole. This creates the wonderful light effect seen mostly in the colour green but can appear as reds and yellows if you get really lucky.

The next day it’s “Game of Thrones” time, a drama as deep and dark as some of Iceland’s glacial lakes, you’ll love this tour that traces the footsteps of your favorite characters through the mysterious landscape of Iceland.

The Game of Thrones tour takes you to some of the filming locations in Iceland where you’ll get to experience Icelandic nature just like the cast members: take in the majestic, sweeping views, feel the spray of the dancing waterfalls, capture the panoramas in the distance, and experience the stillness and solitude.

Visit the stomping ground of the White Walkers and the trail of the Wildlings from North of the Wall at Þingvellir National Park and get to know the symbolic significance of the setting in context to the plot.

Walk around the Settlement Era Viking Lodge in Þjórsárdalur valley where elaborate scenes were shot and one of the most hair raising massacres of the series took place.

If you would like the tour based on a particular hotel we offer a wide range in our hotels section and we are of course happy to quote on any of these.

Transfers are not included in the price of the spa break. Some people prefer to hire a car or take a private transfer which we can arrange but the best way from the airport to your hotel in our opinion is the Flybus transfer from Keflavik airport to your hotel and back for just £39pp return.

Our prices are based on the cheapest departure date in any given month from the departure airport as stated and prices are subject to change according to availability.

Flights are available from London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Luton, London City, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, & Belfast
